ABOUT JOB

JOB'S MISSION is to provide services and support to individuals reentering society.

OUR STORY

In 2010 Jesus Our Boss, Inc. was founded to help men enrolled in reentry/rehabilitation programs in El Dorado County, California.  We noticed that many programs existed to help individuals gain sobriety, provide transitional housing, or in-patient mental health, but it was virtually impossible for us to find a program that provided a holistic approach.

The need for a highly individualized approach to reentry programming was evident.  JOB set out to help individuals transition into "normal" society by helping them gain employment, financial stability, maintained sobriety, individual and family health, and spirituality.  To date JOB's programs have helped dozens of individuals.

In 2015 we opened the first JOB reentry home for men.  The home became the JOB LIFE House in July of 2019.  The LIFE House is the result of five years of cultivating a program based on research, input from the California Department of Corrections, and experience working with men reentering society.  It has become a special place for rehabilitated men to receive the services and support they need to become valuable members of society.

Today JOB is focused on sharing what we've learned with others.  We've learned that long term support is lacking for graduates of reentry programs.  And mental health services and educational resources are an absolute necessity for long term success.

We provide mental health services through our JOB Life Coach team. The team consists of licensed therapists and social workers with experience in addictions, childhood issues, anxiety/depression, and trauma.  And we provide free access to educational resources and materials that enable individuals and non profits to navigate these areas.

OUR VALUES: Jesus Our B.O.S.S

B

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Acts 16:31

An individuals relationship with Christ, and the resulting power of the Holy Spirit, are of utmost importance.  We believe this powerful relationship provides the tools for a life that is beyond the ordinary.

O

For everyone born of God overcomes the world.

1 John 5:4

Through the power of Jesus Christ sin is overcome. An individual must choose faith in Christ in order to break the bonds of sin in his/her life.  We believe in helping individuals to overcome sin, be strengthened by Christ and the Word, and deal with the consequences of sin.

S

You were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 6:11

Sanctification, the lifelong process of being made holy, requires daily commitment.  An individual can and should be in relationship with other believers so learning can take place.  We believe in strengthening relationships and in helping individuals put their sanctification into practice in the world around them.

S

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Mark 10:45

We believe that our salvation and sanctification bring glory to God and that he wants individuals to share this with the world.  Being of service to others is the ultimate goal.  JOB aims to serve other believers, to help them overcome obstacles hindering their faith, assist them in their relationships and daily life, so that they may walk as spiritually healthy individuals who are able to serve others around them.
